History

We Care AA started out as an alumni group of We Care Counseling in 1991.  Today it includes a number of members who are not alumni, but find a comfortable home at the We Care AA meetings.  We welcome alumni of any treatment program, and heartily welcome anyone wishing to achieve sobriety the old fashioned way: Don't drink, go to meetings, and read the "Big Book". Our group has grown to a regular weekly attendace of 20-30.

We Care AA shares an active event calendar with Friends In Recovery.  The late Duane Bertelsen founded We Care Counseling in 1991. Prior to that, Duane had been  director of the CD treatment program at St. Joseph's Hospital where he was involved in Friends In Recovery.

Friend In Recovery grew out of being an alumni group at St.Josph's, and  at St. John's Hospital before that. The association between the two AA groups that grew out of two different alumni groups remains strong today.  For more information about Friends In Recovery, visit  www.friendsinrecovery.net

 Testimonials

Thanks to all the friends in the program, Chucks move went smoothly and quickly!
Without Careing people such as yourselves, to step up and lend a hand, I'd still be carrying boxes through downtown North St.Paul.
This Group is undoubtedly one of the best gifts in my life.
I encourage everyone to check out our meetings and make some new friends!
